Reno River Fest or Jay Kincaid Retirement Party?

The 5th annual Reno River Festival is just days away. At this point most all of the professional competitors are in town, and I am sure that everyone is working their strategy and perfecting their routine. The river should be on its way up as it is almost 80 degrees today, but more importantly it did not freeze in Truckee last night which is the really the key ingredient for higher water. It looks as if once again the weather should turn out great for the event meaning that thousands of people will get the opportunity to enjoy all that the Reno River Festival has to offer while working on their sun tan.
This will be the first year for me that I have not competed in the Reno River Festival, and the first year without any competition for nearly 17 years. Everyone keeps asking me if I am missing it, or if it seems weird. My answer to both questions is yes, but I do not regret retiring from competition. It’s one of those situations where you miss all of the good things about something, but can’t stand the thought of everything else. Kind of like an ex-girl friend I guess…. Anyway, I will be judging throughout the weekend and am looking forward to seeing everyone compete to win. I of course will surely think that I could have done it better than the rest of the competition, but that is just the competitor in me.
See ya out there, Jay.
